About Operencia: The Stolen Sun embraces everything you love about classic first-person dungeon-crawlers, enhancing the old-school turn-based RPG experience with modern sensibilities. Guide a team of memorable characters through a world inspired by Central European mythology.
The Good

●Good combat system
●Excellent voice acting, party banter & funny dialogue moments
●Great voice acting makes for some great characters too (Especially a certain rogue)
●Many secrets to find if that's your bag
●Interesting varied levels although some may be more interesting than others for many
●Some nice music for some the locations you'll crawl
The Bad

●Some enemy areas can be tedious to take down rather than challenging
●Some noticeable FPS drops on the Xbox One S in certain locations / sequences although nothing game stopping
●Some reuse of enemy types with only supped up stats
●Grid-based lock / movement can make it hard to find / see certain items or switches which I suppose is the bane of almost every grid
●Some of the systems don't work as well as they could and may likely be rarely used or thus ignored
The Ugly

●A small amount of tedious puzzles with not always clear goals; some of these are main quest, some optional
The Score

8/10 | It may impress less if you've played (and / or completed) a lot of Dungeon Crawlers to compare it to, but for me, an overall really fun dungeon crawling romp and an impressive first effort by a studio more known for its venerable Pinball FX game series! Great value considering the lower price and Xbox game pass option!
